Form : a decideous and broad-leaved bush

Characteristic : Leaves are out of line and oval. Edge of the leaves are smooth. There are no hairs on the both sides but there are some leaves with little hairs on the surface. Fruits get ripe at September to October and it can be eaten when it becomes brown black.

Where you can see in Dongbaekdongsan : It can be seen near the edge of the forest.

Form : Evergreen broad-leaved arboreous tree

Characteristic : which has large stem is 15m long. green bough is green, with no hair, polish. Leaves are alternate, 10~20cm long, oval or ovate shaped, without sawtooth, cracked in 3~5 pieces, both side has no hair. Flower bloom in June, which is white, bisexual flower. Fruit is 7~10mm long, oval shaped, ripen in October with black. Its origin is Korea

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan  : In Dongbaekdongsan, can be found in the forest, edge of forest, near the trail. Its leave is 2 type, one is oval-shaped, the other is trident shaped.

Longleaf Elaeagnus Elaeagnus macrophylla Thunb. Elaeagnaceae보리밥나무

Form : Evergreen broad-leaved tendril (vine) shrub

Characteristic : The leaf is alternate, round, wide ovalness or wide elliptical, dull-head or sharp-head, round-bottom or sharp-bottom, silver scale hair on backside and disappeared later, green. Fruit is elliptical, length of 1.5-1.7cm, diameter of 5-6cm, white scale hair, ripened in next March-May. Flower bloom un September~November. The young branch has yellow-white and brown scale hair. The length is 2~3m. Its origin is Korea

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan : In Dongbaekdongsan, can be found in edge of forest. The leaf has no sawtooth, surface is glossy. The backside of leaf is little glossy like cuspidata’s backside of leaves.

Japanese Ivy (Hedera rhombea Bean)송악

Form : Evergreen broad-leaved tendril plant.

 

 

Characteristic : Leaves are alternate, thick, like leather and shiny dark green color. leave’s shape likes triangle. Fruit is drupe, 8~10mm diameter, ripen in April to May to black. Flower is bisexual and a number of flower, which in end of top of flower stalk makes umbrella like inflorescence. Some kind of its root is shallow rooted which is radicated near surface of the earth. It’s origin is Korea, and dedicated in Japan, Taiwan and China.

 

 

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan: In Dongbaekdongsan, can be found which is grown in arboreous tree of edge of forest or rock

Form: Deciduous broadleaf shrub.

Characteristic : Leaves are cross each other and upside down egg-shaped or upside down long egg-shaped, Leaves’ length is 4 to 12cm, width is 2 to 6cm. Tip is gradually sharp and both side of leaves have down, but gradually gone. Bear fruits are oval shaped, ripe red in september. Flowers bloom white in may, young branches have white down. They grow southward middle part of Korea peninsula.

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan : It is found at forest’s edge and grazing land. Leaves thin and have small sawtooths in edge.

Isu Tree (Distylium racemosum Siebold&zucc.) 조록나무

Form: Evergreen broadleaf tall tree

Characteristic : Leaves’ length is 3 to 8cm, width is 1.5 to 3cm. Leaves are cross each other and thick and oval-shaped or upside down egg-shaped narrow form. Edge is plain and smooth, gloss, and they don’t have down.  Bear fruits’ length is 1 to 1.5cm, woody, surface has dense down, and ripe september to October, They are divided two pieces and seeds come out. They don’t have corolla of a flower and small flowers were composed to red calyxes and they blooms April to may as hermaphrodite. they are tall trees but generally grow shrub and tree’s from is oval-shaped. sensitive at wind, so generally Its upper side grow oposite side of wind’s direction and tree’s bark is red-brown. The home is Korea. in jeju, they grow altitude 1,100m lower part, and they grow Japan and China, too.

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsanl: In Dongbackdongsan, They are easily find as tall tree to shrub at forest’s edge, inside, near walklooks like Wax leaf privet, but Wax leaf privet opposite to each other, and Isu Tree’s leaves grow cross each other.

Form: Indeciduous broadleaf sub-tall tree

Characteristic : Leaves are hung opposite of the stem and long oval-shaped, both tips are narrow and a little rolled backward. Leaves’s back have closely brown down. Bear fruits are oval-shaped and ripe into light purple in next year’s October. flowers bloom July to October and their color is yellow-white. Stems are brown and small branch are thick and have down. Height is about 7m. The home is the southern part of Korea and Japan.

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan : They are found as shrub occasionally,  inside of forest, near walk, entrance of  Dongbaekdongsan. Leaves are long oval-shaped and both tips are narrow. Leaves’ back has brown down.

Camphor Tree (Cinnamomum camphora (L.)J.Presl) 녹나무

Form: Indeciduous broadleaf tall tree

Characteristic: Leaves are growing in alternation, Quality is shallow leather. If they are cut, they will give off aromatic. They are egg shaped or egg-oval shaped. Length is 6~10cm, width is 3~6cm, They has shaped folium, leaf’s both sides don’t have down. in edge, waved and saw-toothed. The reverse side is gray green. Young leaves are red, has 3 of vivid vein, usually they have 2 vesicle in their junction part. Bear fruits are a berry, and round, diameter is 8~9mm. In October to November they ripe black purple. Blooms are bisexual flower, They open in may, Become white to yellow, They are hanged on a panicle of new branch’s axilla, Size is small-diameter is 4.5mm. Small branches are yellowish green, gloss, have skin bud, no down. Bark is dark brown, be dug of vertical line. they have Taproot and lateral root. The home is Korea, Japan and China.

Form :  Evergreen broad-leaved arboreous tree

 

 

Characteristic :  Leaves are long oval, ends are round, and have saw teeth. Leave surfaces are green and hairless. Back sides are covered with ramenta so that they are usually soft brown but often white. Fruits are nuts, egg shapes, 1.5~2 cm long, and ripened next October. Flowers are monoecism, yellow, and blossom from May to June.Its stem is straight, has many branches and dense leaves. Branches are rough and barks are blackgray. It is distributed in China, Japan and Taiwan. It grows in southern regions and islands such as Jeju special self-government province, and Wando island, at the altitude of 200~700m of the island.

 

 

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan:  In Dongbaekdongsan, can usually be found such as in the forest, edge of forest and in grazing landcan be found better Bumpy area than flat area. Especially, can be found much more in end of trail, middle of forest and there tree’s diameter is thicker than other place’s.

 Characteristics :  Leaf, without hair, sharp-pointed end, green externally without hair, light green in the back. Fruit, round berry, 7~9mm diameter, ripening September to October to black color. Flower, yellowish green, 2~3 mm long, like large bell. It is 5m long which main stem is green, has straight thoms and branches are green with black spots and hairless. Its origin is Korea and live in fields and mountains of country.

Where you can see this species at Dongbaekdongsan:  In Dongbaekdongsan, can be found edge of forest, grazing land and in the forest but unusually.
